Biography

__________________

I started dance at the age of 7 at Noretta Dunworth School of Dance; so dance has been a very large part of my life. I have worked with many people in the studio and trained in many different styles of dance. I came to Wayne State University with the intention of becoming a physical therapist but changed majors to dance after taking a few classes. A lot of my growth as a dancer and a person is due to the faculty at Wayne State. I have worked with professors Meg Paul, Jeffrey Rebudal, Trey Mcintyre, Liz Schmidt, and students Samuel Horning and Adam McGaw to name a few. I explored my capabilities as a choreographer, strengthening my creative mind. I performed works at ACDA Eastern Conference, ACDA National conference, WSU Spring Dance Concert and December Dance Concert to list a few. Over the summer of 2016 I worked with Contexture Dance Detroit and preformed with them. I am very pleased with all of the experiences that I have been give along with all of the training I have been through these four years that shapes me into who I am now.

Artistic Belief Statement

__________________

Dance is my mode of expression, it draws from my raw ideas and builds a strong connection between my mind and body. There is a keen relationship also between me and the audience thus allowing all of us to relate and understand the emotion that is being expressed.

My interests in choreography deals in intense spiritual experiences that are expressed through dance. It allows a showing of the vulnerable self with a powerful array of emotions. This all occurs while working with a piece and witnessing the transformation the work takes on.
